Bryan Holmes is a science (primarily physics), math, and engineering teacher. He started as an AFJROTC instructor at Danbury High School, Danbury, Connecticut in 2005 after a 20-year career in the US Air Force as an officer and pilot. From 2012 to 2015, he taught physics and engineering at Ridgefield High School, Ridgefield, Connecticut where he also mentored students in a book project. From 2015 to 2018, he established the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering at John Wallace Middle School, Newington, Connecticut. He has mentored students in a variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities and competitions, including Air Force Junior ROTC, Team America Rocketry Challenge, Science Olympiad, NASA Explorer Schools program, Connecticut Invention Convention, CyberPatriot, the Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Excellence Award program, and several other STEM challenges. Beginning in the fall of 2018, Bryan will be a physics and math teacher and STEM competition club coach at Thomaston High School, Thomaston, Connecticut.
